I’ve been flying around the country the last couple of weeks running the SMS center for a campaign with the NTIA to raise awareness for the DTV transition in demographics who may not yet be aware of the switch in June.

The way it works is you project an image onto the side of the building and encourage people to text. The SMS messages scroll through.   I ran the projector and SMS center. This was the same system used in the Obama campaign in battleground states during the general election.

The most popular creative used was “If My Life Were a TV Show It Would Be Called…”

Ketchum Digital

May 13th, 2009 Richard No comments

In my work at Ketchum, I’ve started to work closely with Ketchum Digital’s new global director Jonathan Kopp – most recently a member of Obama for America’s National Media Team, where he used “an integrated mix of digital and traditional communications to connect with younger voters” – and head of my department at Ketchum Communications.

I’ve had the pleasure of working on strategy and approach for some of our top clients and learning from our top brass including Ketchum’s president, Rob Flaherty.  The latest project has taken Jonathan’s political roots and applied them to client needs.  A late night or two and some impromptu deep strategy sessions (along with some punchy humor) resulted in many solid, thought-provoking ideas.

Not easily impressed, I continue to be blown away at how forward thinking the Ketchum team is and I’m delighted to have had added some of my own mad skills to the mix.
